Inform Yourself Youth

Author-Preneurship

The Author-Preneur program is Inform Yourself's innovative youth development initiative that combines authorship with entrepreneurship, designed to empower students to become both published authors and business-minded individuals.

Program Structure and Components

The Author-Preneur program focuses on providing young people with a comprehensive educational experience that bridges creative writing and business development. Students enrolled in this program gain hands-on experience in the complete publishing process while simultaneously learning entrepreneurial principles and financial literacy strategies.

Core Learning Tracks

The program integrates two primary educational pathways. First, participants engage in writing and publishing activities where they develop their manuscripts, learn editing techniques, and navigate the self-publishing process to become published authors. Second, students receive training in entrepreneurial thinking and financial management, equipping them with the business acumen needed to monetize their creative work and develop sustainable income streams.

Skills Development

Through Author-Preneur, young participants learn to view themselves not just as writers but as business owners who can leverage their books as foundations for broader entrepreneurial ventures. This mindset shift is crucial, as it teaches students to approach their creative output strategically, understanding market dynamics, branding, and revenue generation.

Program Philosophy

The Author-Preneur program is dedicated to "all kids aspiring to be great," emphasizing that creativity and business skills are not mutually exclusive but complementary. By teaching students to become authorpreneurs—individuals who apply business principles to their writing careers—the program prepares them to create multiple income streams from their intellectual property and establish themselves as thought leaders in their chosen fields.

This innovative approach ensures that participants graduate from the program not only with published books but also with the financial literacy and entrepreneurial skills necessary to build sustainable, independent futures.
